She has come under fire for letting her daughter wear heeled shoes, which some child experts claim can harm the development of children’s feet and posture.

The three-year-old – wearing her trademark high heels – was on the set as Tom filmed new action comedy Knight & Day in Seville, Spain.

But Katie has defended her decision: “Like every little girl, she loves my high heels,” she said. “They are actually ballroom dancing shoes for kids. I found them for her and she loves them”

Parenting forums disagree, with many mothers claiming the shoes ’sexualised’ children and were harmful for their feet.

One parent on Mumsnet wrote: ‘Am I over-reacting or am I right in thinking that ‘celebs’ should not be leading the way in sexualising children?’

Let us know what you think:

Good One Brooklyn, either you have been getting some style tips from your parents or it’s in you genes.

Trilby: tick. Raybans: tick. Fresh kicks: tick. White Shirt & Blazer: tick & tick. Grey jeans (very on season): Big tick!

And the teddys are just to remind us all, yes, he’s still a kid and teddys are cool.

Simple designs with clean lines and soft fabrics is the best way to describe the children’s line within the AmberJules brand.

The range is split into girls and unisex and covers all the basic essentials you need for Fall in either silk/cashmere or Italian cotton, including capes, razor back dresses and tailored shirt dresses for girls and a unisex range covering super fine knitted sweaters, kung fu pants and the masterly tailored ‘mens syle’ pant. Shopping on the site is pure pleasure as we are greeted with a folk song by Australian musicians, Angus & Julia Stone.

Or more importantly, what your mini hipsters are going to put on.  Booby Trap have got it covered and we have put together some shots to give you inspiration on the lead up to the big event. For a limited time Booby Trap is offering free shipping worldwide so get your skates on and take a look.

This fist one is called Battitude (without the stinky attitude!).

Jake is 10 years old and has cerebral palsy. But this does not stop him looking cool and having fun. This is his label ‘Jakes’. The range is for adults and kids but is boys only. Sorry girls. The designs are simple and very cool with a small selection tee shirt designs for kids but large for adults. A percentage of the profits goes towards providing for Jake’s future with a further percentage going towards charitable organisations that support Cerebral Palsy.

Jakes of Soho also has a celebrity following with David Beckham a big fan.

I stumbled upon this little beauty over the weekend, and given the current financial crisis we’re in I thought it quite appropriate.

Made in Australia by Lisa Turner’s brand Hullubullu, these T’s are 100% cotton and available in 2 colours: green or pink. You can purchase in sizes from 00–4 for AUD $30 (approx USD $23), and as you can imagine these shirts are being snapped up by parents around the world…

Chalk n Cheese is a children’s clothing label out of Melbourne, Australia, that is really picking up momentum. Launched in 2005 by designer Tracey Merrifield, it was born from a need for children’s clothes that were functional, that lasted yet were still cool.

Chalk n Cheese: Party Dress Chalk n Cheese: Kitty Jersey

It’s distinct design throw back to 1970s cool comes from the designer’s fond memories of Australian summer days running through sprinklers, playing cricket in the drive, lemonade icy poles and cheezles perched on every finger.

The fabrics and designs of each piece are very unique, you wont see any t shirts with emblems blazened across the front, but instead they offer a wide range of short sleeve or long sleeve collared t shirts (or polos) for both boys and girls. Their shorts and pants are cut to fit ‘just so’ on the hips finishing with a slight flare on the leg and the girls dresses are in such bright colours and bold patterns, there is no better statement to make this season.

Chalk n Cheese: Wonder Polo Chalk n Cheese: Joey Grandpa

Chalk n Cheese’s philosophy is simple: to design clothing with a unique style and with a quality that will last. The philosophy of the brand is to reflect the ‘wonder years’ of growing up, when TV was a treat and playing hide and seek was common place, along with blowing bubbles in our cups of milk.  Chalk n Cheese is available online and at selected shops worldwide.

The philosophy behind this label is to provide girls with clothes they have fun dressing up in, but can wear every day. Each season is a mix of classic, simple pieces such as a striped sweater or polka dot leggings as well as whimsical, colorful costumes with sequin dresses and feather trimmed skirts. And because each piece is so different, it allows every child to put their outfit together with their own sense of style and imagination – and they will still look gorgeous!

The range is broken up into 3 different stories, which gives you an idea of what can be mixed and matched, but my favorite part is the Dress Up stories. Click on these to find the most beautiful selection of headbands with feathers, shiny gold leotards and pink satin patch work dresses. Oh to be 6 again.

I HAVE to get me some of these!

Munster is in serious contention for THE coolest boys clothing label around today.
Based on a fictional naughty child called Mikey Munster, the range embodies his personality and style, and takes heavy influences from street culture, music and art. The range also guarantees to be comfortable & durable ticking both of mum’s approval boxes.

Here is a little insight into Mikey Munster:

For they say he gets into the minds of the small,
makes them pick their nose and wipe it on the wall.
There’s one way to tell if li’l Mikey Munster is near,
shine a torch on your child and look to the rear,
For the shadow of Munster can be seen with ease…

Here are a few favorites for my boys (winter items, as it’s on it’s way here in Australia…):
