Quagmire Kids – full line of stylin’ threads for the skate park, surf camp, the golf course or detention – has a core focus on the heat-sensitive, color-changing ColorFusion shirts. A throwback to the Hypercolor fad from the early ‘90s, it blows the minds of a whole new 21st century generation with various styles of tees and polos that transform from orange to yellow, purple to pink, blue to white and green to yellow.
“Man, when I was a kid and Hypercolor went huge, I had to have it,” says Co-Founder and Creative Director Geoff Tait. “Talk about king of the playground. There was no stopping me with the ladies when I rocked one of those shirts back in fourth grade.”
ColorFusion changes colors when the temperature – not the sunlight – hits 20° Celsius (that’s 68° Fahrenheit for Quagmire’s friends in the USA). ColorFusion was developed based on extensive field research conducted by Tait and Quagmire Co-Founder / Sales Director Bobby Pasternak. That basically consisted of showing prototypes to the hippest six-year-old they’d ever met. When he deemed it “totally nutz,” the guys knew they were on to something big.
“After five years helping adults look cooler, we had to give future trendsetters their shot to stand out from the crowd,” adds Pasternak. “ColorFusion is where it’s at. Parents love it. Kids dig it. And each piece comes with the Good Grandma Seal of Approval.”
Responses from moms, dads, boys, girls, grandmas have been OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD, especially for the collared version, which are school-appropriate and yet totally cool. One mom blogger says, “If you have a little rocker, or a skater or an artistic kid in your life, then do them a favor, and get them one of these cool shirts!!”
An important maintenance note for moms and dads – ColorFusion shirts are built to last. Wash and dry just like the rest of your kid’s gear – the best part is taking them out of the dryer and watching the colors change back.
