Ergobaby has partnered with Every Mother Counts to create a Guest Designer Series launched in September.

Ergobaby chose Every Mother Counts, a maternal health advocacy and mobilization campaign, founded by Christy Turlington Burns, because of their commitment and efficacy in spreading the message of prenatal care and safe delivery conditions around the world. The inaugural designer is founder Christy Turlington Burns, with future personalities to be chosen as the collaboration develops.
EMC aims to increase education and support for maternal mortality reduction globally and engage new audiences to better understand the challenges and the solutions while encouraging them to take action to improve the lives of girls and women worldwide.
Ergobaby’s Guest Designer Series will facilitate awareness and support of this vital issue, with a portion of the proceeds of each sale directly benefiting EMC

The launch collection is made up of four distinct and functional products; two Carriers, Not-Just-A-Diaper Bag and a “hands free” Waist Pack in the ‘Umba’ pattern. Ergobaby made great efforts to source the textile design from Africa in order to serve women in the region economically, in addition to its support through EMC. The distinctive “Umba” pattern was created by a small business woman in Togo**, who provides for her children through textile design, and chosen by Turlington Burns to merge the unique sensibilities of African textile design with a stylish, one-of-a kind twist on products parents use every day.

“ I FOUNDED EVERY MOTHER COUNTS TO HELP RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT THE GLOBAL TRAGEDY OF MATERNAL MORTALITY. HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF WOMEN CONTINUE TO DIE NEEDLESSLY EACH YEAR DUE TO COMPLICATIONS OF PREGNANCY AND CHILDBIRTH BUT THE TRUTH IS THAT WE CAN PREVENT UP TO 90% OF THOSE DEATHS .

THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS LIKE THIS ONE WITH ERGOBABY, WE WILL BE ABLE TO HEIGHTEN AWARENESS FOR MATERNAL HEALTH AND HOPEFULLY INSPIRE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE TO TAKE ACTION ON THIS ISSUE . TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE . ”    Christy Turlington Burns

She’s the latest in a long line of famous faces to launch a clothing line, but Jools Oliver’s new children’s collection has been a surprise hit and is currently flying off the shelves at the rate of on one piece a minute.

The 37-year-old wife of TV chef Jamie Oliver launched her Little Birds collection with Mothercare just one month ago, and already the childrenswear and interiors brand has smashed its ales targets.

Customers have been snapping up products from the range since it launched last month, with its best-selling pieces including floral tunic dresses and rainbow pyjamas selling out online and across stores.

In fact demand for the line is 25 per cent more than Mothercare originally predicted.

The collection, which ranges in price from a £3.50 charm bracelet to a £54.99 quilt, comprises such items as pretty floral and embroidered dresses, bright button cardigans, wadded gilets, striped unisex blazers, checked shirts, polo shirts, stonewashed jeans, chinos, decorative nursery mobiles, colourful bunting, soft doorstops, and bibs.

Jools has four children with her chef husband Jamie: Poppy Honey Rosie, 10, Daisy Boo Pamela, nine, Petal Blossom Rainbow, three, and Buddy Bear Maurice, two.

‘We are delighted with the performance of the new Little Bird collection from Jools Oliver,’ says Mike Logue ,UK Managing Director for Mothercare

‘The product range offers exceptional quality and style at an affordable price, which reflects exactly what our customers tell us they want from Mothercare.’

Jools follows in the footsteps of fellow celebrity mother Myleene Klass who launched a best-selling ‘Baby K’ collection for the store in 2007.

The whole Oliver family was first in line when the range launched at Mothercare’s Oxford Street branch in central London last month.

Mrs Oliver said: ‘I have such a passion for the design of children’s clothes, so to have this opportunity to work with Mothercare is just amazing.

‘My mother dressed us in Mothercare clothes and I have done the same with my children, so Mothercare has always been part of my life.

‘My designs combine both quirky and classic style inspired by my childhood memories. The collection features nostalgic, classic pieces, sprinkled with unique touches and playful attention to detail.

‘The entire collection has been lovingly put together and accessibly priced for parents. I cannot wait to see the reaction to it.’

After launching the collection last month Jools tweeted: “Thank u all guys such fab feed back for little bird over the moon excited and v proud thank u xxxxx”

The high sales are a step in the right direction for Mothercare, who reported it made a £100million loss earlier this year and plans to close around 110 stores over two years.

Tears for this one. Another sweet as a puppy video, this time celebrating Opening Ceremony‘s 10 year anniversary book. Stepping into their downtown store in its first months back in 2002, it’s no surprise to see the heights Carol and Humberto have reached today. It was an exceptional start and the brand continue on the up and up. Here, immaculately styled cute kids take on the roles of Carol Lim, Humberto Leon, Chloë Sevigny and Spike Jonze, taking us back to the beginning. It’s all about friendship, y’know? Published by Rizzoli, find it @ Amazon.
